MORI

MORI is stated to be the UK'S biggest research company. They provide the research data that the institution hires them to find such as audience research. This saves institutions time as they do not have to do it, however, they must still pay for it to be done. Even though Institutions would save money for not collecting research data such as audience research they will not make as much profit if they had. This is why MORI is so successful as when an institution is producing a movie they hire MORI to collect the research data needed.

Although by hiring MORI would be very beneficial for our products we cannot do so due to our low budget. This may mean that our research will not be as effective and thorough as other institutions who are producing real medias as they have the budget to hire MORI or other leading research companies. 

Media Types

To be able to produce my promotional package of a teaser trailer, magazine and poster I will need to start using a variety of media. Some I have used before and others I will learn to use it and develop new skills, as this will make my promotion package look more professional. I have decided to categorized the different types of media into three groups:

• Technology
• Wed
• Programs

The technology group will consist of physical objects and hardware that I will use to import videos and photos to the programs. The program group will consist the various softwares I will use to create my products. The web group will consist of internet features that I may use to distribute my products and reach new audience by using social networks for example to promote my products.

Technology

Technology is an essential factor and may make the difference of making my products looking dull or professional and appealing.   

Nikon D3100

After previously using this camera for my AS product I decided I would use it for my A2 products too as last year it helped me capture professional looking photographs.  I also am familiar on how to use it and so do not need to learn how to use it again. The Nikon D3100 offers different types of effects that will me make my photographs High quality and my videos HD as well as look professional and creative.

iMac OSX
I will use the iMac OSX as it offers high speed performance compared to other computers. So i may have this advantage over other candidates as my final products may look more professional. I have not used the iMac before and so I may need to practice using it before I start creating my products. Through the iMac I will use software such as Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Also another essential software I will use that is in the iMac is Final Cut Pro X. The screen is also bigger than the usually Window screens, this will help me see my product in detail and so it is unlikely for me to make mistakes. 

Web

I have listed the different types of web apps that i plan on using whilst creating my products. 

YouTube

YouTube is the biggest video sharing social networks. I will use this app to upload my videos including the final trailer and then embed them into my blog. This will make it easier instead of putting links in my work. My target audience will also be able to access the videos and so my final trailer will be able to be accessed through YouTube. 

Vimeo

Even though I will mainly be using YouTube to upload and share my videos I've decided to also use Vimeo. This is because Vimeo is also a big social network in which people upload their videos and animations. So by uploading my
trailer in Vimeo and YouTube I will reach a wider audience. 

Prezi

Prezi is my favourite app to exhibit my ideas in a creative and professional way. I learnt how to use Prezi last year and have had an account ever since. I plan to use it this year too for my course. The different templates and paths help make each Prezi look completely differently. 

Blogger

I started to use Blogger last year and learnt how to document and record my work on it. It is a very useful app as my teachers and classmates can access my work and help me improve as you can comment on the blogs too. I plan on documenting all my work from this course on Blogger.

Twitter

Twitter has become a big and popular social media in which users 'tweet' and are able use hash tags to 'trend' topics. We plan on creating #TheBlindEye and tag to see how many people tweet about or trailer and see how popular our trailer becomes. The more people tweet about it the more likely it is others will start becoming curious and decide to watch the trailer. 

Program

Photoshop

I have previously used Photoshop to help me create my AS magazine. I found this app very useful and it helped me create a professional and creative product. This is why I plan on using it this year in for my course. Adobe Photoshop is well-known and global software that is used by most designers, artists, graphic designers and also editors to help them alter and manipulate images. I will also be able have create my magazine and poster by using the different tools such as liquefy, feather, saturation, curves etc to manipulate the characters' appearance. 

Adobe After Effects

We have decided to also use Adobe After Effects as this will help create very realistically yet impressive affects on these scenes to heighten the standards of our trailer. Wafa and me have decided that she will learn to use this program for some of the scenes as she has used this program before and is more familiar with it. Other trailer makers with the genres of horror and thriller have used this program which is why it is so essential to be able to use it as it will make our trailer as good as the professional ones and may appeal a wider audience who have higher expectations.

 Final Cut Pro X

 We decided to use Final Pro X as through a little of research we found that program professionals use this program. Luckily our college had this program installed in the iMacs so we were able to use it.  However we had never used this program before so we had to first develop skills. However, it is not too complicated to use and so we were able to use the different tools that allowed us to add sounds and adding transitions and colour grades. This is not available on Windows and so we were able to se due to having iMacs in our college.
