I decided to do a small moving image experiment for my auxiliary
task. I decided to film Wafa dressed as
a villain with a scream mask. The synopsis is that there are CCTV camera put
around a building and it films a killer walking down the stairs then in the
bathroom. Whilst it’s walking I film it from a closer angle as you can see the
face. Then the villain disappears and
its face suddenly appears in the CCTV camera letting the audience know that it
is being filmed.
I can link my auxiliary task to Nosferatu as
that text was also in black and white and had only non-diegetic sound. Also, I
was inspired by Paranormal Activity as they used recording cameras to capture
the paranormal activity. The reason I made this video in the genre of thriller
and horror is because those are the genres my products will be in and so I wanted
to be able to familiarise myself with how to capture the codes and conventions
in moving image.
